Preparation - Reflective Portrait Project

5 thumbnails and basic color study for upcoming project.

My color study is based off of a painting by Warhol who does a lot of pop culture art and I'm very excited to see how the colors flow with my style. As for the drawings, the first one is me painting a painting of myself painting a painting of myself. It's a mouthful I know but I think it will be really fun and portrays reflective concept similar to when you put two mirrors in a room parallel together; your reflection continues forever. The fourth thumbnail, the one I think I am going to use, is very personal me. It shows me now looking at myself in the future and what I look like in the future is not what I want to be. As a teenager, I experience a lot of pressure to be successful when I grow up even though I want to do something in the art category for a job even though it doesn't generally make a lot of money. This work will portray the emotional outlook I have on the future and suggests what I plan to do about it.
